Good news for all Viber users, Viber just launched a new feature called “Viber Out” for its entire user base. This new feature allows you to make low-cost calls to any mobile or land-line phone number all over the world. But what about the people who don’t know what Viber is? So first let us help them understand what Viber is. Viber is an instant messaging voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) application that is basically developed by Viber Media for Smart phone and Android Phone but now Viber for personal computers is available too. In addition to text messaging users can exchange images, video and audio media messages. If you are unable to install and use Viber due to lack of your local language then it is not an issue because Viber is currently available in 30 languages like English, Arabic, Albanian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, German, Italian, Persian, Spanish, Russian, Hebrew and Portuguese.

Viber Launches “Viber Out”

Free instant messaging and calling platform app Viber is coming out to take over on Skype with a new feature called “Viber Out”. This new feature allows you to call almost any phone number mobile or land-line around the world with the of this app. Viber previously only allows you to call or message other Viber users around the world for free and that was just similar to other messaging platforms app like WhatsApp. With the help of “Viber Out” now you can call any phone—as long as you are willing to pay for it, just as Skype.

Initially this “Viber Out” service was launched on November in Philippines just to help their living residents of the island nation to communicate with emergency services and loved ones by following Typhoon Haiyan. But now this feature of Viber is going global and it is been proved that few of its long distance rates are even cheaper and better than Skype. Viber has its different rates for calls to land lines versus calls to mobile phones, but Skype that allows for a slightly better or worse pricing depending on the country.

As you can see in the above table, when you call U.S with the help of Viber Out you calls to a mobile device will cost you 1.9 cents per minute. On the other side pricing for Skype pay-as-you-go credit is 2.3 cents per minute. When you make a call to UK through Viber Out you will cost to 1.9 cents to land lines, while when you calls to mobile devices are 5.9 whopping cents per minute. Skype on the other side will cost you 2.3 cents per minute for any phone in UK.

Viber Launches Viber OutViber Out can be cheaper at times than Skype, but it will all depend on where you are making a call and whether the number on the other where you are calling is a mobile number or not. One of the best advantage of  “Viber Out” is that your Viber account is attached to your mobile phone number. That means any calls you make with “Viber Out” will use your cell number on the receiver’s call display despite of whether the opposite person to whom you have called is using Viber or not.

Currently Viber out is available as an option inside the Viber app that is available on Android phones, Smartphones, iPad, iPhone, but now it is also available for personal PC.
